The 1887 Gold Proof Sovereign Jubilee Head marks Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee, 50 years after her accession in 1837. Its obverse carries Joseph Edgar Boehm’s portrait of Victoria wearing a small imperial crown and long veil, introduced that year to replace the Young Head portrait. Certified NGC PF60 Cameo, the reverse features Benedetto Pistrucci’s Saint George and the Dragon, with the date in the exergue. The Jubilee Head remained in use on sovereigns until 1893.
