Description
This 2021 United Kingdom quarter-ounce gold bullion coin presents the White Greyhound of Richmond, the concluding individual-beast design in The Queen’s Beasts sequence. Struck by The Royal Mint, it is denominated £25 and contains 0.25 troy ounce of 999.9 fine gold.
Designed by Jody Clark, the reverse depicts the white greyhound holding a shield bearing the Tudor rose, set against a detailed chainmail-textured background. The obverse carries Clark’s portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. The imagery recalls Edmund Tudor’s white greyhound heraldic supporter and the Tudor rose, a symbol of the union of Lancaster and York.
Catalogued as NGC MS69, this graded example brings together a high Mint State designation with the final standalone heraldic subject of the original series. An appealing choice for collectors of modern British gold, Royal Mint bullion issues and The Queen’s Beasts.
