Description
The 1oz Gold Proof The Queen's Beasts Lion of England NGC PF70 (UCAM) (w/Box & COA) is the inaugural 2017 release in the ten-design Queen's Beasts collection. Its reverse shows a heraldic lion holding a shield bearing the Arms of the United Kingdom, while the obverse carries Queen Elizabeth II's fifth definitive portrait. Both designs are by Jody Clark. Struck in 999.9 fine gold with a £100 face value, this proof coin is certified NGC PF70 Ultra Cameo. The series draws on James Woodford's ten plaster statues created for the Queen's 1953 coronation at Westminster Abbey.
