Description
The Queen Mother 90th Birthday Gold Proof £5 Crown was issued by The Royal Mint in 1990 to mark Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother’s 90th birthday. Struck in 22-carat gold, it weighs 39.94 grams and measures 38.61 mm in diameter. Leslie Durbin designed the reverse, which features an intertwined script ‘E’ monogram within a border of roses and thistles. The obverse bears Raphael Maklouf’s third definitive portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
