The Gold Proof £5 Restoration of the Monarchy (w/Box & COA) was issued in 2010 to mark the 350th anniversary of Charles II’s return to the throne after the Interregnum. Its reverse, designed by David Cornell, combines a crown with an oak-leaf wreath intertwined with a rose, thistle, leek and shamrock. Struck in 22-carat gold to a proof finish, the coin weighs 39.94 grams and measures 38.61 mm in diameter. Ian Rank-Broadley’s fourth definitive portrait of Queen Elizabeth II appears on the obverse. This example is supplied with its box and certificate of authenticity.
