The 2022 1oz Silver Proof British Monarchs George I is the second release in The Royal Mint’s British Monarchs Collection, spanning the Stuart, Hanover, Saxe-Coburg-Gotha and Windsor royal houses. Its reverse carries a remastered portrait of George I originally created by John Croker; George I became the first British monarch of the House of Hanover in 1714. Struck in one troy ounce of .999 fine silver, the coin has a £2 face value. The obverse features Jody Clark’s fifth definitive portrait of Elizabeth II. The limited edition presentation was set at 3,500, with a maximum coin mintage of 3,510.
