The 1oz Gold Proof The Tudor Beasts Dragon NGC PF70 (UCAM) is the sixth release in The Royal Mint’s Tudor Beasts series. Its reverse, designed by David Lawrence, depicts the Dragon of Beaufort holding a shield bearing the Portcullis badge. The dragon was used by Henry VII to express the Tudor dynasty’s descent from the Welsh princes. Struck in 2024 from one troy ounce of 999.9 fine gold, the coin carries a £100 face value. The obverse bears Martin Jennings’ official coinage portrait of King Charles III. Certified NGC PF70 Ultra Cameo, it comes from a limited presentation mintage of 400.
