This 2023 United Kingdom £25 gold bullion coin is the quarter-ounce Bull of Clarence issue from The Royal Mint’s Royal Tudor Beasts collection. Struck in 999.9 fine gold, it is presented here as a graded coin and catalogued as NGC MS70. NGC defines Mint State 70 as showing no post-production imperfections at 5× magnification; the individual certification has not been independently verified, as no certification number or holder images were supplied.
The reverse, designed by David Lawrence, portrays the Bull of Clarence against a chain-mail-style surface-animation background. Associated with the House of York, the beast holds a shield bearing the Tudor Rose, representing the union of Lancaster and York. Martin Jennings’ official King Charles III portrait appears on the obverse, making this the first bullion release in the series to carry that effigy.
As the third Tudor Beasts bullion release, this coin brings together Royal Mint bullion format, heraldic design and a defined place within the collection. It is a considered choice for collectors of modern British gold coinage and Tudor-inspired issues.
