Description
The 1983 Gold Proof Sovereign is a £1 British coin struck by The Royal Mint in 22-carat gold. Its reverse features Benedetto Pistrucci’s Saint George slaying the dragon, a design first introduced on the sovereign in 1817. This proof issue has the sovereign’s standard weight of 7.98 grams and a diameter of 22.05 millimetres. Its gold fineness is 91.67%.
