Description
The 1oz Gold Britannia (Random Year) is a UK bullion coin from the Gold Britannia series, introduced in 1987 as Europe’s first modern gold bullion coin. Its reverse typically carries Philip Nathan’s Standing Britannia design, although alternative depictions appear on some dates. Produced by The Royal Mint, this ungraded coin contains one troy ounce of fine gold and has a face value of £100. As the fineness is .9167, it is a 22-carat issue dating from the series’ 1987–2012 period. Gold Britannias are UK legal tender and exempt from Capital Gains Tax for UK residents.
