The 2023 1oz Silver Proof The Lion and the Eagle NGC PF69 (UCAM) is the inaugural release in The Royal Mint’s series marking the relationship between the United Kingdom and the United States. The heraldic reverse pairs a lion with an eagle, while the obverse bears Martin Jennings’ official coinage portrait of King Charles III. Designed by John M. Mercanti, the 12th Chief Engraver of the United States Mint, this £2 coin is struck in one ounce of .999 fine silver. The presentation mintage was set at 5,000, and this example is certified NGC PF69 Ultra Cameo.
