The 2021 2oz Silver Gothic Crown Quartered Arms is the second release in The Royal Mint’s Great Engravers series, following Una and the Lion. Its reverse remasters William Wyon’s 1847 Gothic Crown design, with the four quartered shields of the United Kingdom arranged in a cruciform pattern and the rose, thistle and shamrock placed in the angles. Struck in two ounces of .999 fine silver, this £5 bullion coin carries Jody Clark’s fifth definitive portrait of Queen Elizabeth II on the obverse. The original Gothic Crown reflected the medieval calligraphy and ornate detail of the Victorian Gothic Revival.
