This 2024 United Kingdom £100 gold bullion coin contains one troy ounce of gold and is struck by The Royal Mint. It is the inaugural release in the Royal Mint’s dedicated St George and the Dragon bullion series, presented here as a graded coin and catalogued as PCGS MS70.
Its reverse carries Jody Clark’s contemporary interpretation of the enduring legend, showing St George on a rearing horse as he drives his lance into the dragon. The obverse features Martin Jennings’ official portrait of King Charles III. The subject has a long association with English coinage, while this issue uses a distinct modern design rather than the familiar Pistrucci Sovereign treatment.
For collectors, the appeal lies in the combination of a one-ounce Royal Mint bullion issue, the first date of this particular series and a prominent British numismatic theme. PCGS defines MS70 as fully struck and lustrous, with no visual marks under 5× magnification; the listing’s grade is supplied by the catalogue specification.
